When drawing character illustrations, the presence of line drawings and the translation of objects and space into two dimensions are elements I am most conscious of, and I feel that ukiyo-e is the root of these two, and one of their ultimate forms. I

am honored to have the opportunity to present a collaborative work with the great works and culture that have had such a profound influence on me. "Hokusai's paintings contain iconic elements that can be recognized just by looking at the waves in "Under the Waves off Kanagawa" or the cherry blossoms in "Tokaido Shinagawa Gotenyama no Fuji," and each piece is recognizable by its elements alone. These elements pair extremely well with Hatsune Miku, who can fuse with various things and transform into various forms, so I had a lot of fun drawing her.
